An apple a day.

This is Oscar, who has a rare liver disorder (Liver shunt), which means he is on a special diet and medication to help manage his liver issues. Oscar decided to treat himself to a special “healthy” treat and stole an apple core. Unfortunately it got stuck in his oesophagus (food pipe) and Oscar was admitted by our team, late on Sunday afternoon. Using our endoscope (flexible camera), the apple was dislodged and Oscar is back to his waggy tailed self.

Xray shows the piece of apple stuck.

Endoscope image shows only minor damage to the lining of the oesophagus where the apple was stuck.
