Bob's Midnight Snack

Bob is a 13 year-old, male neutered, West-Highland White Terrier who presented to the hospital last month in the early hours of the morning.

He was highly anxious, and was pawing and rubbing at his mouth resulting in it bleeding all over his legs and face. His owner had found a chewed up lollypop stick on the floor.
On examination, a fragment of the lollypop stick could be seen in the roof of his mouth stuck between two of his molar teeth.

Bob was admitted for a brief sedation to remove the fragment of wood as it would have been too painful to remove whilst he was awake. Bob received painkillers and antibiotics and has subsequently made a full recovery from his midnight snack and early morning trip to the vets!
