Carmel joined us shortly after graduating from University College Dublin in 2000. Following a year of working as a locum at veterinary practices across Sheffield, she returned to Park Veterinary Hospital in 2007. She has achieved an RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (VetGP), an ESVPS certificate in small animal surgery and RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in small animal practice. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and walking her dog in the Peak District.
Donna graduated from the University of London in 1989 and has been with us for over 30 years, with a short break taken to go travelling back in the nineties. She enjoys all aspects of her role, particularly feline medicine, emergency medicine and exotic pet care. In her spare time, she is a keen climber and fell-runner. She lives with her husband, daughter and many pets, including dogs, tortoises and sheep.
Katie graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2008, after completing a previous degree in zoology. She worked at various small animal practices across Yorkshire before joining our team in 2018, and has a keen interest in ophthalmology, an area she holds a certificate in. Outside of work, she is a paper artist with a passion for creating animal portraits. She also enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, dogs and cat, who was the product of a pregnant spay brought into Park and had her kittens at Katie’s house!
Originally from Portugal, Tiago graduated in 2016 and has a particular interest in clinical pathology, laboratorial analysis, soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging and dermatology. Despite describing himself as a “dog person”, he also loves cats and has a big soft spot for rats. An avid computer gamer and sports enthusiast, he spends much of his free time playing rugby with Sheffield Vulcans, hiking on Stanage Edge and playing video games.
Matt graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2007 and later worked at a mixed practice in the Peak District, before moving to Sheffield and joining our practice in 2022. He holds an ISVPS certificate in dermatology and is working towards Advanced Practitioner status. In his spare time, he enjoys running, skiing and exploring the world when he can.
Vicky is our visiting cardiologist. She graduated from Cambridge University in 1989 and after 10 years in general small animal practice, she gained a certificate in veterinary cardiology. Since then, she has worked mainly with practices in Sheffield, making use of a specialised ultrasound scanner when she visits for cardiology clinics
David graduated from the Royal School of Veterinary Studies in 2005, and has been seeing referrals as a visiting surgeon since 2012. He performs a high volume of orthopaedic surgery; these are mainly cruciate and patellar luxation procedures, but also fracture surgery and other orthopaedic procedures such as arthrodesis (joint fusion) and correction of angular limb deformities. He has designed a number of veterinary instruments and implants that are in common use around the world. He still performs a range of soft tissue procedures, but these are now fairly focused as airway surgery (BOAS), ear canal ablation (TECA), perineal rupture/herniation, wound reconstruction with occasional ocular surgery (eg cherry eye, entropion, conjunctival graft). Much of his free time is taken up with his young family, their rescue spaniel and their small woodland in the Peak District National Park.
Annelies is from Belgium and moved to the UK shortly after graduating from Ghent University in 2005. She has been with Park Vets since 2007 and achieved her ESVPS certificate in small animal medicine a few years later. While she finds all aspects of veterinary practice fascinating, her main interests lie in small animal medicine, particularly endocrinology and geriatrics. In her spare time, she enjoys climbing, fell running, road biking and reading.
Asha joined us after graduating from the University of Bristol in 2025, having completed some of her training with us. She likes the variety of cases in general practice and has a keen interest in surgery and feline medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the Peak District, swimming and running.
After finishing school, Andrew joined Park Veterinary Hospital as a student veterinary nurse and qualified in 2005, becoming head nurse in 2010. His interests include nutrition and feline medicine, which led him to complete the ISFM certificate in feline medicine.
Melanie has worked at our practice since 2002, and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2004. She has a particular interest in feline medicine and is our practice nurse training co-ordinator, managing the training of our student nurses. Outside of work, she enjoys playing roller derby for Sheffield Steel Rollergirls.

Originally from Derry in Ireland, she loves taking trips back home to see her family dog, Benji. In her spare time, she likes going to the gym and getting lost in a good book in a coffee shop.

She has always wanted to work with animals and has a special interest in anaesthesia. In her spare time, she enjoys going out with friends, reading and spending time with her own cats and dog.
Chloe qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2023, after completing her degree in veterinary nursing and companion animal behaviour at the University of Bristol. She worked in Bristol for a short while, before returning to her Yorkshire roots and joining us in 2024. She has since set up senior clinics to promote preventative treatments and long and happy golden years for older pets. In her spare time, she can often be found looking after her plants (or hunting for more at a garden centre).
A lifelong animal lover, Erin completed a degree in zoology before deciding she wanted to become a veterinary nurse. She has a cat named Yuki and would love to have more pets in the future.
Sarah studied zoology at Bangor University, after which she worked for the NHS and in the private healthcare sector. In her spare time, she volunteers at animal shelters and takes part in various outdoor projects, aiming to have a more positive impact on the environment. She also enjoys blasting 80s music and tidying up after her cat, Juno
Jess joined our reception team in 2019. Through her love of animals, she has volunteered with a number of animal charities and helped out on a local farm. When she’s not working, she also enjoys walking her dog.

She adopted her own cat from the local Cats Protection branch, and is an antiques enthusiast with a passion for retro furniture, upholstery and soft furnishings. She also enjoys going to the theatre when she gets the chance.
